viking amulet freya Chinese zwaarden Men of the lower classes

Men of the lower classes during the High and Late Middle Ages (1000–1500 AD) wore a tunicella—an 'over-tunic' with a built-in hood—for field work during the cold months or whilst travelling

The weight permits you to feel immediately which direction the knife will go

With this axe you have less strain in the limbs after you chop for a longer period of time

This one tunic is a reconstruction of this style

The caftan has been modelled after a Viking caftan excavated in Birka

viking amulet freya Chinese zwaarden Men of the lower classesThe Viking jewel is based on a 9th10th century original excavated in Aska, Sweden. Freya was the goddess of love, though she was also a warrior goddess. Presumably, this piece served as a love amulet or an amulet worn by a woman for fertility or love.
